The Wright City Wildcats used an early 13-0 lead and key plays in the second and third quarters to earn their second straight conference win.
Wright City (3-1) scored on their first two offensive drives to claim an early 13-0 lead less than nine minutes into their 41-26 win over South Callaway. Denzel Dowdy scored on a 2-yard touchdown run to open the scoring. Duan McRoberts rushed for a 61-yard touchdown run to extend the Wildcats' lead.
After South Callaway trimmed the Wright City lead to 13-6, Duan McRoberts returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown. The Wright City defense stopped South Callaway in the red zone after a late turnover to maintain a 20-6 lead into halftime.
With the Wildcats leading 20-12 and facing a 4th and 1 from their own 38-yard line, McRoberts broke a tackle and scored a 62-yard touchdown to give the Wildcats a 27-12 lead.
Wright City added a pair of rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Carle'on Jones scored on a 3-yard touchdown run. Dowdy scored on a 30-yard touchdown run to give Wright City a 41-18 lead.
