This year's Fair theme will be "Your Fair, Your Way," and will include a performace by the Kentucky Headhunters. The annual event kicks off on Sunday, June 28, with the traditional parade through downtown Warrenton and runs through Saturday, July 4. Highlighting the 2009 Fair will be the coronation of the Fair Queen on Tuesday, June 30; live entertainment on Friday, July 3; and motorsport events including a demolition derby on Thursday, July 2, and a truck and tractor pull on Saturday, July 4. The livestock dinner and awards ceremony is scheduled on July 2. The Fair will culminate with a fireworks display on July 4. "We think we have a good lineup for the people of Warren County," said Fair Board President Roger Owenby. "We're looking forward to a successful event this year." The featured musical entertainment July 3 are national recording artists, the Kentucky Headhunters as the headline act. Butch Wax and the Hollywoods, a band which performs a variety of rock 'n roll oldies hits, will open the show. The Kentucky Headhunters' most popular hit was "Dumas Walker," released in the early 1990s. The group is also known for songs such as "Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine," "Spirit in the Sky," and "The Ballad of Davy Crockett." "They have a good, popular sound," Owenby said. "There are a lot of people around who will identify with their music." Fair board members said the lineup for the 2009 event will also include carnival rides which will be open to the public from Sunday night through Saturday, plus fan favorites such as a motorcross event on July 1. A micro mini truck pull will be added to the lineup on Friday, July 3. "In planning for the 2009 Fair, we've tried to keep the events most people seem to want to see," Owenby noted. "We know that motorsports events such as the demolition derby and the truck and tractor pull always tends to bring a lot of people out."
