A four-day escape room event in downtown Warrenton later this month will raise money for Agape, a local nonprofit that operates Warren County’s largest food pantry and several other economic and employment training programs for low-income people.
Escape rooms are a group activity in which a team of people work together to solve puzzles that will help them escape from a locked room within a set time limit.
Agape will host escape room activities for four days at the end of this month — April 23, 24, 29 and 30. The challenges will be hosted at the former Blue Anchor/Brewskies building on Main Street in Warrenton. Groups participating will register for scheduled dates and times.
There are three rooms available of varying levels of difficulty. The “Treasure Hunters” room is perfect for escape room newbies or groups with younger kids. The “Grandma’s Last Game” room is the intermediate room that is good for people who want a little more of a challenge. The “Mafia” room is the hardest of the three, which is good for escape room aficionados or those looking for the most difficult challenge.
All of the escape rooms are appropriate for kids and can be fun for people of all ages. Each room will give groups 60 minutes to try to find clues, solve puzzles and unlock the final solution.
The price to challenge an escape room is $160 for a group of up to eight people. Up to two additional people (for a total of 10) will be allowed in each room for an added $20 per person.
Groups can register to participate by going online to www.agapemo.org. When you go online, you will choose the date, time and room choice for your group.
