Record Managing EditorAn Emmaus Homes employee recorded a video of residents’ private parts while they were sleeping to show friends what he did at work, authorities reported. The video was taken with a cellphone and sent to others on a messaging app known as Snapchat.Warren County Prosecutor Kelly King last Thursday charged 23-year-old Tyler Jackson, of Labadie, with three felony counts for first-degree invasion of privacy. An arrest warrant has been issued. Bond has been set at $15,000.The allegations were made in a hotline call to the Missouri Division of Health and Senior Services, Sheriff Kevin Harrison said, and reported to authorities by a Emmaus executive July 6.Emmaus Homes provides 24-hour residential and other services to adults with developmental disabilities. The three male victims, ranging in age from 46 to 59, live on Emmaus’ campus outside of Marthasville. The video shows Jackson checking the diapers of three sleeping residents, according to the probable cause statement. While checking the diapers, Jackson allegedly exposed the genitals of two residents and the buttocks of the third.Harrison said the case is disturbing.“One of his (job) duties is to check on residents and change and clean them,” Harrison said. “While he was videotaping, he was posting this online and making comments. It is crazy and wrong.”When a detective interviewed Jackson, he allegedly admitted to videotaping the incident on July 5. Snapchat allows users to send pictures and videos to others that can be viewed for a short amount of time before being automatically deleted. In a statement, Emmaus Homes President/CEO Cindy Clark said, “Mr. Jackson is no longer employed at Emmaus Homes. Due to confidentiality we are unable to comment further. As always, our clients remain our No. 1 priority and we are working closely with our clients and families to support them in this matter.”Privacy changes
