Tom Watts, a former U.S. Marine and a member of Elks Lodge 2662, Warrenton, presents the 48-Star Flag during a ceremony held to commemorate Flag Day. Flag Day is observed nationally June 14. The ceremony was held at the local Elks lodge Friday morning. Local veteran's groups, including American Legion Post 122, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2180 and the Richard Scott Haymes Detachment 1393 of the Marine Corps League also participated. A photo gallery of photos taken from the event will be posted on The Record's website Monday afternoon, and additional photos will appear in the Thursday, June 20, edition of The Record.
