Elections for city governments, school boards and emergency service districts will open to candidate filing beginning next week on Dec. 7. Those interested in running for a public office will have three weeks to sign up to have their name on the ballot.
Interested candidates must register with the appropriate entity by Dec. 28. Local elections will be held on April 5, 2022.
Some political districts charge candidates a small filing fee to help pay for the cost of the election.
Below are the offices up for election, along with information on how to file.
Three seats on the Warrenton Board of Aldermen are up for election, one in each of the city’s three wards.
Aldermen serve for two-year terms. Aldermen up for reelection are Jack Crump in Ward 1, Scott Schulze in Ward 2, and Bob Delaloye in Ward 3.
Candidates may file with the city clerk at Warrenton City Hall, 200 W. Booneslick Road. A map of the city’s wards is available on the city’s website, www.warrenton-mo.org.
Two seats on the R-III Board of Education are up for election in April, each for three-year terms.
Candidates may file at the Warren County R-III Central Office, 385 W. Veterans Memorial Parkway, Warrenton.
The ambulance district board of directors has two seats available, each for three-year terms.
One seat represents Subdistrict 3, which is largely north of I-70 in the Wright City area, including Bell Road, Highway J, and east to the county line.
The other seat represents Subdistrict 6, which is west and northwest of Warrenton, including the areas of Highways A, B, Y, and EE.
Current officeholders are Jill Smoot in Subdistrict 3 and Merlyn Petersmeyer in Subdistrict 6.
Candidates can file for election at the Warren County Clerk’s Office, 101 Mockingbird Lane, Suite 302, Warrenton.
The board of directors for the county’s independent 911 dispatch center has three seats up for election. One office is an ‘at large’ seat representing the whole county, and is currently held by Matt Eskew. The other seats represent the agency’s Northern and Southern Districts, currently represented by Jamie Salvator and Caitlyn Struckhoff, respectively.
Each seat is for a four-year term. Candidates may file for election at the Warren County Emergency 911 Center, 209 State Highway U.
Three city government positions are available to candidates in Wright City: the office of mayor, and one alderman each for the city’s two wards. Each office is for a two-year term.
Ward 1 represents all residents north of Interstate 70, and Ward 2 represents the south of I-70. Current officeholders are Karey Owens in Ward 1 and Ramiz Hakim in Ward 2. The current mayor is Michelle Heiliger
Candidates may file at Wright City Hall, 636 Westwoods Road.
Two seats on the Wright City Board of Education will be elected in April. Each is for a three-year term.
The board members up for reelection are Austin Jones and Mary Groeper.
Candidates may file at the school district’s central office, 90 Bell Road, Wright City.
The fire district based in Wright City has three board of directors positions up for election.
One seat is for a two-year term, and is currently held by Michelle Heiliger. The other seats are six-year terms, currently held by Chris Kellner and Justin Fears.
Candidates can file for election at the Wright City Fire Protection District headquarters, 396 W. North Second St., Wright City.
The city government has two aldermen positions available, one in each of the city’s two wards. Current office holders are Nick Lange in the East Ward and Christopher DeVore in the West Ward.
Aldermen are elected for two-year terms. Candidates can file at Marthasville City Hall, 402 E. Main St.
Two school board seats are available for three-year terms. Candidates may file at 220 Locust Street, Washington.
The fire district’s board of directors will have one position open to election for a six-year term.
Candidates can register for the election at the fire district office at 405 E. Main St. in Marthasville. Applications can be obtained by calling the district office at 636-433-2240 ext. 510.
The ambulance district serving southern Warren County has two board of directors positions open in 2022, each for three-year terms.
One seat represents Subdistrict 3, which encompasses the area north and northwest of Marthasville. The other represents Subdistrict 6, which is the Dutzow area.
Current office holders are Greg Cooper in Subdistrict 3 and Tracy Holt in Subdistrict 6. Candidates can file for election at the Warren County Clerk’s Office, 101 Mockingbird Lane, Suite 302, Warrenton.
The Truesdale Board of Aldermen has two seats for election in April. Current aldermen up for reelection are Mike Thomas and Joe Brooks.
Aldermen serve for a two-year term. Candidates may file at Truesdale City Hall, 109 Pinckney St.
The village board of trustees will have two members elected in April. Each is for a two year term. The positions up for election are currently held by Ted Sator and Donna West.
Candidates may file at Innsbrook Village Hall, 1835 Highway F.
Foristell will have three government positions on the ballot. The office of mayor is available for a one-year term, and two aldermen positions (one in each ward) are available for two-year terms.
Ward 1 consists of all residences north of the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. Ward 2 is south of the Norfolk and Southern Railroad.
Candidates may file at Foristell City Hall, 121 Mulberry St.
Two seats on the board of trustees are up for election for two-year terms. Candidates can file for election at the office of the village clerk, 28356 Pendleton School Road.
