Eastbound I-70 traffic shifts planned this week at Warrenton

Posted

Traffic shifts are scheduled on Friday, Oct. 23, in Warren County on eastbound I-70, at the Route 47 interchange (mile marker 193.2 to 194.2) at Warrenton, as work continues on the Improve I-70: Warrenton to Wentzville project.

To accommodate the traffic shift, eastbound I-70 will be reduced to one lane between 7 p.m., Friday, October 23 to 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 24,  while crews place temporary barrier wall.

I-70 eastbound traffic will be shifted to the left and this traffic pattern is expected to remain through spring 2027 to allow for the full reconstruction of the permanent eastbound shoulder. While two lanes of traffic will be maintained during peak travel times, drivers can expect nightly right lane closures between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. throughout the project to support ongoing pavement work.  There will be no traffic impacts or changes to westbound I-70 at this location with this traffic shift.

Motorists are encouraged to pay attention in work zones, drive the posted work zone speed limit, and allow extra time for travel. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
