Dutch oven workshop offered at Montgomery County Old Threshers Show

The Montgomery County Old Threshers have set some time on Aug. 21, to have a hands-on Dutch oven cooking workshop beginning around 4 p.m.Pat Korman, Butch Fisher, John and Patty Baker along with some others will teach and guide attendees. To assist in this program, Cuno Trailer Sales and the Old Threshers committee have donated the charcoal for the workshop. Charcoal chimney lighters, tongs and other tools will be available for use provided by Pat Korman.Attendees will learn how to regulate temperature, rotate pot and lid to turn out a successful dish. The demonstrators will show attendees how to clean and take care of their Dutch oven and how to properly store it when not in use.Please contact Pat Korman at 636-359-0001 to sign up. Attendees should bring their Dutch oven, the ingredients to make a dish and a recipe. A Dutch oven can also be reserved by contacting Korman.Recipe ideas will also be provided for one-pot dinners, desserts, breads and casseroles.4-H members participating in an outdoor cooking project will demonstrate how to cook in a Dutch oven on Saturday morning beginning a 9 a.m.Both events will take place at the Montgomery County Old Threshers Show and will be under a tent near the large water fountain on the way to the log sawing and old schoolhouse.
