A Warren County woman arrested Saturday, with a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit, took a drink of alcohol in front of a Warren County deputy following a motor vehicle crash, according to a probable cause statement.
Donna F. Scott, 55, of the 25000 block of Sky Drive, Warrenton, was charged as a persistent offender for driving while intoxicated.
A Warren County deputy was dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on Firetower Road around 6:38 p.m. and made contact with Scott. The deputy reported Scott had bloodshot eyes, had a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech. She also was confused and unable to answer most questions from the deputy.
Scott also allegedly took a drink from a Styrofoam cup which she stated contained alcohol.
According to the probable cause statement, Scott was transported to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis. Consent was given to conduct a blood draw and Scott's blood-alcohol level nearly two hours after the crash was .320 percent, police said. The legal limit is .08.
According to court records, Scott was previously convicted twice of driving while intoxicated. Both incidents occurred in 2008 in Montgomery and St. Charles counties.Drunk woman crashes car, takes drink of alcohol in front of deputy
