The East Central Drug Task Force arrested 73 suspects and applied for 23 search warrants during the first quarter of 2016.Warren County Sheriff Kevin Harrison released the activity report for the task force covering the first quarter, beginning Jan. 1 and ending March 31.Officers reported the following amounts of drug seizures: methamphetamine, 2,832 grams; marijuana, 36,951 grams; heroin, 90 grams; prescription drugs/pills, 151 units; hash oil/organic marijuana, 120 grams; and synthetic drugs, 10 grams.The task force also seized 48 firearms, dissembled four methamphetamine drug laboratories and conducted 97 narcotic and criminal cases.The task force is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force that serves Warren, Audrain, Cooper, Howard, Montgomery and Pike counties.Local agencies that are members are the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and the Warrenton Police Department.The task force is under the direction of the participating law enforcement agencies, with the daily operation supervised by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.The task force focuses its efforts on drug enforcement by conducting both covert and overt narcotics investigations in the counties and cities it serves.If residents have any information regarding possible drug activity, they can call their local law enforcement or reach the drug task force at 1-888-823-METH (6384).
