Two suspected narcotics dealers caught the attention of Wright City police officers, ironically, by trying to avoid being noticed.Officers were at Abel’s Quik Shop Tuesday, Aug. 1, investigating property damage, when one of them noticed the pair loitering in a white pickup truck in the parking lot.The officers became suspicious because every time they looked at the truck, the two people inside immediately ducked down in the vehicle, according to a police report. An officer approached the vehicle and asked the driver, Thomas M. Timmermeier III, for his driver’s license. At that time, the officer observed the passenger, Wendy N. Meyers, pushing a purse across the floorboard.Authorities allege the officer opened the driver’s side door of the vehicle, revealing a clear plastic bag visibly hanging out of Timmermeier’s pocket. That bag contained what appeared to be heroin, according to police.Timmermeier reportedly fled on foot when officers attempted to arrest him. An officer used a stun gun on him and he was taken into custody, police stated. On the passenger side of the vehicle, the purse Meyers had moved was open, with suspected drug paraphernalia and pill bottles in plain view from the door, according to police.A search of both subjects and the vehicle uncovered numerous bags of suspected methamphetamine and a “large brownish rock-like chunk” believed to be unprocessed heroin, police said. The suspects both were carrying a large amount of cash that police say is consistent with the sale of illegal narcotics.Police also located several ledgers containing information about drug sales, indicating Meyers was selling prescription narcotics. Both suspects are charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.Timmermeier is also charged with resisting arrest for a felony. He also was driving with a revoked license, police said.
