A drue awareness walk is scheduled for noon Oct. 21 in front of the Warren County Courthouse in downtown Warrenton.
The walk is sponsored by Sabrina Wipfler, who is working to raise awareness of the heroin, fentanyl, and opioid epidemic in the county.
Wipfler recently had four billboards placed along Interstate 70 that show the pictures of 40 people who have died from the epidemic.
Those billboards will remain up untli at least the second week of January. Wipfler is working to raise money to keep the billboards up longer.
“I would like to raise enough money at some point to pay it all off for a year or two years or whatever, but I would like to see the boards stay up completely.”
