A driver from Fulton died from injuries suffered in a crash on Interstate 70 in Warren County on March 1, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The driver, Wendell M. Belisle, 32, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis after the crash, but was pronounced dead a short time later, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol crash report. The crash occurred around 7:10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near the 202 mile marker, which is between Wright City and Foristell.
Investigators report that the crash occurred when Belisle, driving a 1999 Chevrolet S10, attempted to change lanes and entered the path of a 2015 Honda Accord traveling the same direction. The rear-right side of Belisle’s truck struck the front-left of the other vehicle, causing the truck to drive off the highway and overturn.
Investigators reported that Belisle was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7:50 a.m., according to the report.
The driver of the second vehicle, Hailie D. Querruel, 28, of Wright City, was not reported to have any injuries.
