The driver in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 was pronounced dead Friday afternoon, Aug. 4, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.Authorities say 83-year-old Warrenton resident Helen Wingfield was driving in the westbound lanes of I-70 when she became affected by a medical condition.Her Jeep Cherokee traveled off the highway and struck a road sign at the 200 mile marker around 3:30 p.m., causing minor damage to the vehicle. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.Wingfield was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis, where she was pronounced dead less than an hour later, according to the highway patrol.Additional information about the cause of her death was not available.Crash
