A 29-year-old St. Louis man was killed Wednesday, Feb. 10, when his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 near the eastbound rest area in Wright City.
The driver, identified as Mark W. Jula, was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m. The accident was reported at 10:05 p.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Jula was distracted and ran off the right side of the road. His 2011 Nissan Rogue struck the rear of a tractor-trailer that was entering eastbound I-70 from the rest area and was traveling in the acceleration lane.
