A Marthasville-area driver was hurt in a late-night crash in Franklin County during wet weather on Sunday, Oct. 24.
Nicholas D. Holtmeyer, 23, suffered moderate injuries in a crash that occurred around 11 p.m. on Franklin County Highway A, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The highway patrol alleges that Holtmeyer was traveling too fast for the wet conditions when the 2001 BMW 330I he was driving lost control, crossed the center line and drove off the left side of the road. The vehicle became airborne, then began to overturn when it hit the ground, the highway patrol said.
Holtmeyer was taken to Mercy Hospital in Washington for treatment. The highway patrol stated he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
