A single vehicle crash on Interstate 70 just after midnight Tuesday was the result of the driver falling asleep, state troopers said.Darren Hackler, 48, O’Fallon, was eastbound near the Warrenton exit when he fell asleep at the wheel, according to a Highway Patrol preliminary report.The Ford E450 van he was driving went off the left side of the road, struck the cable median, returned to the road, struck the guardrail on the right side, then traveled off the right side of the road.Hackler had moderate injuries. He was wearing a seat belt. He was transported by Warren County Ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis.Crash
