Rebecca Boone Elementary in Warrenton needs help from the community as students prepare for their annual Christmas shopping.

The school has a program that allows students to earn Boone bucks for good attendance, behavior and academic responsibility. Students can choose to spend the Boone bucks they earn at the Rebecca Boone Trading Post twice a month.

School officials said the Rebecca Boone Trading Post program incorporates important life skills in economics and personal growth.

The Trading Post carries donated items like toiletries, next to new clothing, shoes or gently used books, toys, bikes and scooters. School supplies and nonperishable foods are available too.

The program culminates with shopping for others experience.

During the month of December, the Trading Post is about giving. Students have the opportunity to use their Boone bucks to purchase gifts for family members. With the help of community volunteers, students are able to shop, wrap and take home gifts for their families.
