Dobsch Chiropractic and Family Wellness comes to Marthasville

Dr. Samantha Dobsch recently opened Dobsch Chiropractic and Family Wellness in Marthasville. She is located at 102 One Street, sharing space with Clippers and Shears, and Kay’s Cuts.Dobsch was raised in Augusta and attended St. Francis Borgia Regional High School. She earned her chiropractic degree at Logan University in Chesterfield. She has been working at Fischer Chiropractic in Washington getting hands-on experience and continues her practice there on Tuesday and Thursdays.“I love this side of the river,” said Dobsch. “I liked the idea of having two locations for my practice. I’m more of a rural than a city dweller.”She said people always think of back pain when they think of a chiropractor. Dobsch said there is more to it than that. She wants to provide preventative care and improve the quality of life for her patients.“You are meant to move, not stand or sit all day,” she said. “I want to help people stay pain free.”Dobsch said many people think if they visit a chiropractor, they will have to keep returning again and again.“That’s a stereotype,” she said. “I actually want to help people. I see a horrible trend in the way things are going with obesity and lack of activity. You need to be healthy on the inside. Try it once and come back when you want to come back.”Dobsch said she became interested in her field as she watched her father deal with cancer and diabetes. She considered physical therapy or nursing, but felt that becoming a chiropractor was a better fit.“I like letting the body work for itself,” she said. “I watched my dad go in and out of hospitals. Why can’t we make a change and affect this? You don’t have to kill yourself at the gym to make a difference.”Part of what she hopes to instill in her patients is getting in a routine of daily exercise and healthy habits. She wants to provide the accountability that helps some people succeed in attaining a healthier lifestyle.“I would love to see this grow past one room,” she said. “I’m starting small and getting involved in the community. I would really love for this to take off. I would love for it to be fantastic.”Dobsch is in the process of becoming an insurance provider. She does accept Medicare patients. She is available for appointments Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. by calling 636-229-1825. For more information visit her Facebook page.
