Jake Orf drove in four runs on three hits to lead Wright City past Bowling Green 17-2 on Saturday.
Orf tripled in the first inning to knock in one run, hit a home run to right field in the fourth and also reached a second time in the frame on a bases-loaded walk.
The victory lifted the Wildcats’ record to 8-7 on the season, their seventh win in a row with the postseason beginning later this week. Wright City had opened the season with only one win in its first eight games.
The Class 4, District 6 Tournament will be held at St. Charles West. The Wildcats, the fourth seed, will face No. 5 Lutheran St. Charles at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.
The winner will advance to face top seed Fulton at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1.
No. 2 St. Charles West and No. 3 Winfield will square off at 10 a.m. Saturday in the other semifinal.
The district championship game is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14.
