What: Class 4, District 5 semifinals

Scouting Warrenton: The third-seeded Warriors are coming off a 30-27 district quarterfinal win over Marshall on Oct. 31. It averages 26.2 points per game compared to 19.8 opposing points allowed. Warrenton will be looking to advance to its third straight district championship game. Leading the way on offense has been wide receiver Deadrick Forrest. A senior, Forrest has scored nine touchdowns and recorded 782 receiving yards. Running backs Isias Hernandez and Javon Jones have five and four touchdowns, respectively and Brad Tucker leads the team with 478 rushing yards. Wideouts Brody Reel and Kaleb Lauck have also met the endzone four times each. Quarterback Mason Sanders is coming off of four-touchdown passes from last week and has a 58% completion passing rate. Defensively, senior Jake Mincher leads with 85 total touchdowns, while Jones and Jordan Lopez each total 61 tackles. Jones has been disruptive upfront with seven sacks, while Jamarion Fulton and Jay Sanders each have four sacks. In total, the defense has 44 sacks and nine interceptions. Offensively, they have a balanced attack of 1,672 rushing yards and 1,675 receiving yards.
Scouting Odessa: The second-seeded Bulldogs enter district play coming off of a bye week and a six-game win streak. Odessa will be looking to contend for its fourth straight district championship game. It averages 34.89 points per game opposed to 20.56 points allowed. Leading the offense has been running back Cole Westerhold with 17 touchdowns and 1,097 rushing yards. Wideouts Jackson Whitaker and Amaury Powell have seven touchdowns each and 736 and 730 receiving yards, respectively. Junior Michael Scott will be under center. He has thrown 21 touchdowns for 2,049 yards and has a .632 passing rate. Defensively, William Scott leads with a whopping 135 total tackles, while Isaiah Hanks has 97 tackles total. Kade Carroll and Drew Jarrett have seven and six sacks, respectively. In total, the defense has compiled 13 interceptions, 27 sacks and two blocked field goals. Offensively, they have 1,655 rushing yards and 2,043 receiving yards.

Scouting Wright City: The Wildcats (No. 4) are coming off of a 47-22 district quarterfinal victory over Principia last Friday. It averages 28.6 points per game and 21.8 opposing points per game - the lowest defensive average in its district. Nathan Turner and Kaveon Schulte have been dynamic in the air with 567 and 526 yards, respectively. Turner also leads the Wildcats with nine total touchdowns, followed by Kayden McCurdy with eight and Dayton Humphreys with seven. McCurdy currently handles the majority of carries with 435 rushing yards. McCurdy is coming off of a two-touchdown game from last week. Quarterback Humphreys has thrown 17 touchdown passes for 1,341 yards and has a .571 completion rate. Quinn Schnarre anchors the defense with 91 tackles, while Grant Lehmen leads with five sacks. Kaiden Pilcher has been a key contributor with four sacks and 50 tackles, while Evan Baum has 68 tackles. Kicker Kaleb McCory has five touchbacks. In total, Wright City has eight caused fumbles, 14 interceptions and 59 pass deflections. Additionally, the team has 1,617 rushing yards and 1,409 receiving yards.
Scouting Borgia: The top-seeded Knights enter district play after receiving a quarterfinal bye. This marks the Knight’s first season under head coach Boyd Manne who took over for longtime coach Dale Gildehaus after 38 seasons. It averages 25.89 points and allows 22.22 points per game. Max Borgerding, Lane Mallinckrodt and Aiden Crooks make up the heart of the offense. Borgerding leads the team with eight total touchdowns and 696 receiving yards, while Aiden Crooks controls the run game with 795 yards and six touchdowns. Quarterback Mallinckrodt has scored seven touchdowns and thrown 12 touchdown passes for 1,482 yards. He has a completion percentage of 57.07. Jase Shofner leads the Knights with 80 total tackles, followed by Tyler Woodle with 43. In total, the defense has tallied 11 sacks and six interceptions and the offense has produced 1,157 rushing yards and 1,574 receiving yards.
