Dennis M. Tunison, surrounded by family passed away on December 8, 2021 at the age of 73.
 
Dennis was born on August 6, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his siblings, Debra (coolest aunt ever) Tunison of Long Island, NY, Kevin (Sandra) Tunison of Spokane, WA., his daughters, Dawn (Jake) Huett of Warrenton,  Janice (Chris) Currier of Nashville, TN, his sons, Karl Whiteside of O'Fallon, MO, Kurt Whiteside of St. Peters. Grandfather of 7, Brandi, Haley, Kelsi, Courtney, Michael, Josh, and Bradyn; great-grandfather of 9, Cali, Ryker, Rylee, Sophia, Kayden, Mahayla, Kain, Shayla, and soon to arrive Nova Leigh.
 
Dennis proudly served his country as a United States Marine. He served as a police officer for the City of St. Peters. Later he became an over the road truck driver and enjoyed traveling the United States; many times taking his children along with him. He later became a small business owner of Today's Express LLC along with his devoted wife Debra. In their free time, they enjoyed boating on the river with all the friends they made at the Alton Pool Community on their beautiful boat, the Cool Breeze II.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Edward Tunison, mother Jeanette Tunison, brothers, Stephen and Douglas Tunison, and his beloved wife, Debra Kae Tunison.

Visitation for Dennis will be held on Monday, December 13, 8:30-10 am, at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation, also at Pitman Funeral Home. Dennis will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
