Mr. Dennis Eugene Glosemeyer, fondly known as "Denny," of Marthasville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. He was born on January 1, 1943, in Washington, MO, to the late Lawrence F. and Armella T. (nee: Struckhoff) Glosemeyer. Dennis had reached the age of 79 years.
Dennis was united in marriage to Elaine Theresa Ehlenbeck on August 28, 1965, at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Dutzow, MO. They celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage together. To this union three children were born, Steve, Sandy and Jeff. In 1966, Dennis began working at Blue Flame Gas in Marthasville. In 1982, he became the owner of the business and was still involved in the daily operations. Dennis and Elaine were active members of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Concord Hill. He was active on several committees for the church, including the finance committee. Faith was a huge part of Dennis's life. Dennis loved to BBQ and was known for his white sauce chicken. He enjoyed fishing for catfish, bluegill and bass, all from the pond behind his house. Dennis also loved to fish with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, although most of the time was spent helping them and not fishing. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn and cutting the grass. He also loved the time spent with his family in the pool at his home. Dennis was a devoted man of God, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Dennis Glosemeyer was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Armella. Those who are grateful for having shared in Dennis's life are his loving wife, Elaine; his children, Steve Glosemeyer and wife Janet, Sandy Cooper and husband Greg, and Jeff Glosemeyer and wife Lisa; 11 grandchildren, Julie Koirtyohann and husband Joe, Nicole Hellmann and husband Nathan, Jodi Glosemeyer and fiancé Justin Molitor, Tyler Glosemeyer, Mariah Cooper and fiancé Paul Straatmann, Lauren Huebner and wife Tosha, Austin Cooper, Sam Glosemeyer, Garrett Glosemeyer, Carter Glosemeyer, and Jack Glosemeyer; 4 great-grandchildren, Elliana, Kohen, Klyde, and Troy; 4 siblings, Shirley Borges and husband Fred, Kenny Glosemeyer and wife Jane, Andrew Glosemeyer and wife Candace, and Donald Glosemeyer and wife Carleen; other relatives and many friends.
A visitation for Mr. Glosemeyer will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Marthasville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, with Father Steve Robeson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
