Death threats lead to stalking charge

A Lincoln County man arrested Dec. 18 is charged with first-degree stalking, a felony, after a victim reported her family had received death threats.Cipriano Maximilliano Garcia III, 43, Hawk Point, was taken to the Warren County Jail and posted bail with a $2,500 surety bond.Wright City police began investigating Garcia after the victim reported the threats Dec. 6, according to an arrest report.The victim told police Garcia had made threatening statements and sent messages to her and her family members.Among the threats, Garcia allegedly said that he would drive his vehicle into the victim’s house where her children and grandchildren sleep.Several text messages were provided to police, including one that threatened to take someone’s “last breath.”Police said the victim’s juvenile daughter also received a text from Garcia, threatening her mother and using expletives.As a condition of bail, Garcia is prohibited from having any contact with the victim. His next hearing in Warren County Circuit Court is Jan. 23.
