There was still no movement for local state or county offices in the past week with the filing deadline closing in.State Reps. Bart Korman and Bryan Spencer, both Republicans, remain unopposed as of Tuesday.The deadline to file for a state or county office is Tuesday, March 29. The primary election will be held Aug. 2, with the general election to follow Nov. 8.Korman is running for a fourth two-year term representing the 42nd District, which encompasses all of Montgomery County, a large portion of Warren County and southwestern St. Charles County.Spencer is in his second term in the 63rd District, which includes Wright City, nearly all of Innsbrook and northwestern St. Charles County.Four county offices remain uncontested. The four Republican candidates who are unopposed are Northern District Commissioner Dan Hampson, Southern District Commissioner Hubie Kluesner, Sheriff Kevin Harrison and Surveyor Robert Lewis.All offices are four-year terms.Three races have formed for the primary election in August. Three candidates — Incumbent Glenn Craig, Denise Mauzy and Tom Massman — are running for coroner.For public administrator, incumbent Eugene Buxton will face Melissa Dempsey. The race for assessor pits incumbent Wendy Nordwald against Andrew Smith.All of the candidates are Republicans.Candidate Filing
