If you could go to one place in the world, where would it be? Greece or somewhere in Europe.
Who do you most look up to? “I look up to my dad a lot because he was really smart in high school. He had super good grades and he had a successful business being a mechanic.”
Hot take: “All the years of school are definitely worth it because not only does it build your intelligence, but it also builds your social skills and your ability to make friends.”
If you could take another college course, what would it be? “If it was all just for fun, I’d probably pick something like engineering or welding.”
What achievements in your school career are you most proud of?
“I’ll be Alpha Omega next year which is pretty cool and I’m also doing dual enrollment at Missouri Baptist.”
What classes are you taking through Missouri Baptist?
“English composition and math. They only offered two this year since it’s a newer thing. We got to pick between math and English, but I did both.”
Is it difficult taking college courses as a junior?
“Honestly, I’m pretty good at math so it doesn’t make too much of a difference for me, but English is a lot more critical thinking instead of just writing down answers.”
Is math your favorite subject?
“Yes, it used to be science but I really love math since I’m good at it. I just think it’s a lot of fun. I like to keep my brain occupied, so it’s fun to go through numbers and figure out patterns and what works.”
Is there a specific unit or topic that really interests you?
“Geometry or anything with patterns. I’m good at getting the answers without pen and paper. I like what we’re doing right now in college math. It’s about recognizing difficult number patterns.”
What other things are you passionate about?
“I love swimming. I swim for the YMCA and I’m hoping to get a college scholarship for that. I do the 50 free, the 100 free and the 200 free and sometimes I’ll do the 100 breaststroke and the 100 fly. Also, just hanging out with my friends, playing soccer, going out and shooting the ball around for a little bit.”
Besides swimming, do you know what else you would like to do after graduation?
“I definitely want to go to college for sure and get a degree. I want to do something hands on, like maybe engineering or something with math. Maybe some kind of financing or accounting.”
