Finding a balance between sports and the classroom is extremely important to Justin Bote, as he values his achievement in both areas.The Wright City senior stands among the top of his class academically and comes from a long lineage of successful athletes in his family, invoking a significant amount of pressure on himself as the final sibling through the school system.Bote has worked to make himself well-rounded and gain the most out of the experience at Wright City High School. He involved in baseball, playing third base and pitcher, and is also a part of the Wildcat basketball team.Outside of sports, he hones his leadership skills as a member of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.Bote says he has transformed socially during his time at Wright City, becoming more socially engaged and breaking outside of his comfort zone. During the summer he enjoys playing golf and staying active. Once he graduates in May, Bote is planning on playing college baseball and pursuing a degree in Biology, with aspirations of becoming a doctor.Q: What is your favorite subject?“My favorite subject would be science, and this year my favorite classes are anatomy and physiology.”Q: What are you goals for your senior year?“I want to keep my class rank No. 1 and get multiple baseball offers from colleges.”Q: What is it like coming from a long line of sibling athletes?“My siblings and I are pretty close but competitive. There is a lot of pressure to succeed and compare to my sibling’s careers.”Q: What do you like most about WCHS?“I like that it’s a small school with friendly people.”Q: Which teacher has had the greatest impact on you?“I would have to say that Susan Wright has had the most impact on my academic life. Her classes have taught me important study skills and lessons.”Q: Who has had the greatest overall influence your life?“My parents have had the most effect on my life.
