Warrenton High School Class of 2017 graduate Jordan Todd is in the midst of perhaps the busiest two-week stretch of her life. She was named Warren County Fair Queen on the 4th of July, meaning a flurry of photo appearances and livestock events followed.Just four days later she was boarding a plane for Oklahoma City, where she is currently serving an internship at Youth America. Both are new experiences for Todd and have her excited and eager to learn. She had been to the fair before but never served as queen or understood the depth of what goes into the events. Todd has also attended Youth America as a camper but is now seeing what the operation entails from the opposite side. And her adventures will not soon end. She heads to her future home, the University of Central Missouri, for a cheerleading camp at the conclusion of this week. Todd is looking forward to being a member of the cheer squad as she pursues a degree in political science. She aspires to later attend Mizzou Law School.Todd stayed extremely active during her days at Warrenton High School as a member of the varsity golf and basketball teams, along with the cheerleading squad. She also served as Student Council vice president and FBLA secretary. In addition, Todd was a member of NHS.Q: What made you want to run for fair queen?“I wanted to run for Fair Queen when I was little because I saw the influence and how it was a role model position. I love being a role model for little kids. It was a lot of fun. I’m happy the judges saw the potential in me to represent out the county.”Q: What was fair week like for you?“I spent so much time in the barn, which I had never done before. I’m thankful for my court, because they really showed me around. It was a really cool experience because I got to learn about how they judge the livestock and a lot of things I didn’t know before.”Q: What was your favorite memory from high school?“I would say cheering on the football field at games or going to watch state wrestling. It was such a great experience to see other kids doing well and see my friends reach the finals.”Q: Which teachers had the most profound impact on you?“Mr. (Rich) Barton was a good influence on me. I never got the chance to have him for class. He coached our freshman basketball team and was a good influence and great man of God. Coach Williams has also been very helpful. There were some really great people in the high school that I had good relationships with.”Q: Who has had the greatest influence on your life?“Probably my mom. Over the years we didn’t have the same views. Now that I’ve grown to be like her we have the same views. She’s shown me I can be strong and how to work through problems and take on life head on.”Q: What was your favorite class in high school?“Advanced Ceramics. I spent hours in that class working on projects.”Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?“I’ve always wanted to see Australia, but I’ve also always wanted to go to Europe too. Australia is so pretty with oceans and tropical aspects. Europe has so much history and culture.”Favorite Food: “Any kind of fruit.”Favorite Restaurant: “Olive Garden.”Favorite TV Show: “One Tree Hill.”Favorite Movie: “Remember the Titans or the Step Up movies.”Favorite Song: “1,000 Years by Christina Perry.”Favorite Musician: “Carrie Underwood.”Jordan Todd
