Emergency workers responded to a report of a gas leak at the Warrenton Pool Park just before 10 a.m. Friday, July 27. Warrenton Fire Chief Mike Owenby said workers were doing grading for a new road leading into the park when they struck a gas line that wasn't marked correctly."It's a brand new line. The only thing there is the pool," Owenby said. He explained that the gas line leading into the park was active leading up to a stopping point closer to the pool.Staff from Ameren shut off the gas shortly after the line break. Owenby said nearby homeowners shouldn't be concerned. The road under construction is an extension of Warrior Avenue at Highway 47. The pool is expected to open later this fall.
