The Warren County Commission unanimously supported two proposals to rezone 49 acres near Pendleton, a move that is being made to help market the properties.A 15-acre parcel adjacent to Flying J will be rezoned to commercial, while four properties totaling 34 acres closer to Pendleton off Highway B will be rezoned to light industrial.Previously, all five properties were zoned agricultural. They are owned by MSA Health, LLC.“We are trying to keep it all up to speed and keep it more marketable,” George Heath said. All three commissioners voted in favor of both rezonings at the conclusion of a public hearing Monday. No one in attendance opposed the proposals. The county planning and zoning commission had recommended approval at its February meeting. There are no immediate plans for the properties, Heath said, though that could change if sewer service is extended to the property he owns next to Flying J. All agree the property’s location visible from Interstate 70 make it a prime spot for future commercial development.“Water is not an issue, sewer is the biggest,” Heath said. “When that’s going to happen, no one has put a time frame on it.”County commission supports Pendleton annexationThe Warren County Commission this week expressed support for an annexation proposal by the Village of Pendleton. The village is seeking to voluntarily annex a stretch of Highway B and the surrounding right of way. In a letter mailed to village officials, the county does not have any objections or concerns with the annexation. The letter also will be forwarded to MoDOT, officials said.Warren County Administration Building
