Authorities have issued a felony charge for drug delivery against a Warren County man who was arrested last week.

Curtis Owens, 40, of Warrenton, was arrested Nov. 8 and charged with delivery of a controlled substance, felony drug possession, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The drug delivery charge is a class C felony.

According to information submitted to the Warren County Circuit Court, officers with the East Central Drug Task Force, a regional law enforcement cooperative, executed a search warrant on Nov. 8 at a home on Park Drive, just outside Warrenton, where officers believe Owens had been staying. Officers allegedly located a number of pill capsules, along with a glass pipe that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

While Owens was in custody, investigators allege that he admitted to having fentanyl capsules. Officers further allege that Owens admitted to driving to St. Louis every other day to purchase fentanyl pills so that he could sell them in Warren County.

When asked about methamphetamine, Owens allegedly stated that he does not sell methamphetamine much, according to police.

Owens is currently being held in jail. He was denied bail after a hearing in which Associate Judge Richard Scheibe determined that he is a flight risk and a potential danger to the community, according to court records.
