A concrete truck driver was lucky to be uninjured after his truck tipped over and collided with a utility pole on Highway A, officials said. The crash happened south of Truxton Friday, Jan. 20. The driver, a 44-year-old male from Montgomery City, swerved and laid the truck on its side, smashing the rear of the cab into a utility pole, Warrenton Fire Chief Mike Owenby said. The driver told responders he was avoiding a dog that ran in front of his truck.Cuivre River Electric workers had to secure the power lines attached to the pole before the truck could be removed, Owenby said.“It looked a lot worse once the wrecker started pulling it up,” he said. “The utility pole struck the cab from the rear and caved it in. He got lucky.”
