Comprehensive plan survey deadline nears

The deadline is approaching to participate in an online survey related to updating Warrenton’s comprehensive plan.The city is seeking public input to develop future vision and development.The deadline to fill out the survey is Monday, May 25.Links to the online survey can be found at warrentonplan.org or on the city’s Facebook page. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete. It is open to city residents and those residing outside the city limits.The survey asks residents what the best qualities of Warrenton are, why they live in the city, and allows them to rate government services among other questions.Everyone who participates can enter to win a free family pool pass. A comprehensive plan is a tool used to set community goals and to handle future growth and development. It will cover areas such as land use, character, transportation, neighborhoods, parks and trails, infrastructure and implementation.The process to update the comprehensive plan started earlier this year with several meetings held with key stakeholders in the community and members of the planning advisory committee. Three public meetings also will be held this year to gather input, though no specific dates have been set.The city’s current comprehensive plan is 15 years old. The plan is being developed by Kansas City-based Vireo for $90,000.Comprehensive plan survey deadline nears
