Posted

Construction work on the Highway 47 widening project from Hawk Point to Troy begins transition into Phase 1-2. This section of work is located between Farm Lane and Fred Norton Road, near Hawk Point.

Initially, work will begin as early as September 28 with another temporary closure for a crossroad culvert replacement, located 0.25 mile west of Bohemian Church Road. At this time, Highway 47 will be closed from Farm Lane to Bohemian Church Road for up to six days. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes to reach their destinations.

Once complete, work will shift focus and begin work on the vertical alignment and intersection reconstruction at Bohemian Church Road and Highway 47. Beginning as early as the week of September 28, contractor crews will close Highway 47 between Farm Lane and Fred Norton Road for up to two months to facilitate this work.

During this long-term closure, motorists will utilize the following signed detour to reach their destinations:

  • Eastbound Highway 47 from Hawk Point: traffic will utilize southbound Highway 47 to Warrenton to eastbound I-70 to Wentzville to northbound U.S. 61 to Troy
  • Westbound Highway 47 from Troy: traffic will utilize southbound U.S. 61 to Wentzville to westbound I-70 to Warrenton to northbound Highway 47 to Hawk Point
  • Local business and residential access will be maintained throughout the closure

Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

The $18.8 million contract was awarded to Magruder Paving, LLC. All work is expected to be completed by summer 2028.
