Here are several actions the Warrenton Board of Aldermen took at their last meeting.The city is tentatively planning a public meeting to display preliminary plans for the new Interstate-70 interchange. The meeting will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Warrenton High School. More information will be announced later.The Warrenton Police Department is joining the Missouri Opioid Heroin Overdose Prevention and Education Project. The program puts Narcam into the hands of police officers and other first responders.Narcam is a nasal medication that can reverse an overdose and save lives. By getting it to the people first on the scene, more lives can be saved.The board asked the city attorney to draft an amendment to make both sides of Lakeview Drive near Highway 47 no parking. The matter was introduced at a previous meeting.Board members talked about whether the road is wide enough to keep parking available on one side. They questioned how safe it was for children at play, and for moving emergency vehicles. The no parking amendment will be discussed at an upcoming meeting.Midwest Mole was given the contract for construction of a water main across I-70. Midwest Mole was the low bidder at $436,420 for the boring project. The city had budgeted $586,600 for the project.Izabelle “Izzy” Mitchell was recognized by Chief Greg Houdyshell and the board because she asked for cash for her birthday so she could give it to BackStoppers.City of Warrenton
