Candidate filings for local elections this April closed Jan. 16, and the final list of candidates has been set. Elected leaders in Warrenton, Wright City and Marthasville face challengers.The elections will be held April 3, 2018.In Warrenton, newcomer Tom Boos will run against Ward 1 Alderman Mike Shilharvey. Three other aldermen are unopposed for re-election. They are Scott Schulze, Ward 2; Bob Delaloye, Ward 3; and Greg Costello, Ward 1.Wright City has an active election roster, with competition for three out of four open seats. Mayor Dan Rowden faces a challenge from former Warren County Commissioner Jim Logan.For aldermanic seats, Ward 1 Alderman Kerry Lambright is running against newcomer Dwayne Paul for a one-year term. Fellow Ward 1 Alderman John O’Connor is running again unopposed.Ward 2 Alderman Tom Dixon will have to compete for re-election with former Ward 2 Alderman Jim Toothman.Marthasville’s election ballot will see former Police Chief Eugene Jenkins running against Alderman Christopher DeVore to represent the city’s West Ward. East Ward Alderman Nick Lange is unopposed for re-election.The Wright City Fire Protection District Board of Directors will also have one contested seat. Phil Keim and Christopher Kellner will compete for a four-year term on the board. Three other seats on the board each had only one candidate file.Other governing bodies only had one person file to run for each available office. Because of that, some of the races will not be listed on the April 3 ballot.The noncompetitive races are:Truesdale mayor and Board of Aldermen;Innsbrook Board of Trustees;Foristell Board of Aldermen;Warren County R-III School Board;Wright City R-II School Board;Washington School District Board;Warren County Ambulance District;Marthasville Community Ambulance District;Warren County Emergency Services (911) Board.Election filing
