City approves $302K for street work

The city of Warrenton has accepted bids for several projects totaling more than $300,000 of concrete and asphalt street work.The city’s board of aldermen awarded a contract to grind and pave multiple city streets to Mid River Asphalt out of Troy for $253,592 on April 18. Mid River Asphalt submitted the low bid for the projects. The city had budgeted $266,800.Streets included in the contract are:• Dogwood Drive and Redbud Drive.• South West Street from Booneslick to Walton.• South East Street from Booneslick to Walton.• Armory Road from the I-70 Outer Road to Arlington.• Steinhagen Road from Veterans Memorial to Flora.• McKinley Avenue from Veterans Memorial to Flora.• Flora Avenue from Highway 47 to Roosevelt.In a separate bid, the city awarded a contract to replace concrete at locations on Hawthorn Tree Drive and Sportsmans Court to TS Banze. That company submitted the low bid of $48,706 for a project budgeted at $69,000.Unrelated to the street work, aldermen also approved the purchase of a 1-ton Ford pickup truck for the city’s public works department. The truck will cost $35,323; the purchase was budgeted at $37,200.City of Warrenton
