The Wright City Church of the Nazarene invites all first responders who serve Wright City and everyone in the community to remember 9/11 at a service and dinner at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the church.The church recognizes the importance of remembering the tragic events that happened on Sept. 1, 2001. The church also believes in recognizing those who serve each day as first responders. Because of their ongoing sacrifices, families in the community remain safe and free from fear.This event honors those who were lost and those who are here now to serve and protect. It allows the community to say thank you for their service.Judge Robert Wright and Wright City Mayor Dan Rowden will speak at the event. Displays this year include: fire trucks, police cars, ambulance vehicles, landing and display of a medical helicopter on site, Wright City Fire Protection District ladder truck, a bagpiper and a car extraction demonstration by Wright City Fire. Esther Marie Photography is offering professional photographs.Sponsors include Wright City Church of the Nazarene, Wright City School District, Pitman Funeral Home, First State Community Bank Wright City branch, Sugarfire Smoke House and Esther Marie Photography.
