A new Element Church location is partnering with the Warrenton 8 Cinema to give away 800 movie tickets to see “The Lion King” on premiere night Thursday, July 18.The church, led by Senior Pastor Erik Lawson, already holds services in Wentzville and St. Charles and is expanding to Warrenton in September. The church will hold services in one of the theater auditoriums not used on Sunday morning.Regional theater manager Eric Gubelman said there are three ways to make a reservation to one of six showings of “The Lion King” offered July 18.“We are encouraging people to make a reservation on our website at w8cinema.com,” he said. “This will allow us to keep track of how many seats are left.”There is a $1 reservation fee, that can be used for a $1 discount on concessions. People should check in at the theater box office for the exchange.Tickets can be reserved at the theater with a $1 reservation fee.Patrons can come on event night for tickets, if they are not already sold out. Warrenton 8 Cinema will keep patrons advised of ticket availability on their Facebook page. Nearly 7,500 people are fans of the page.Premiere night showings on July 18 will be at 6 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 8:45 p.m., 9 p.m., and 9:15 p.m.This live action and CGI remake of the 1994 Disney classic is one of the five top movie releases of the summer and is expected to gross more than $150 million on its opening weekend.Cisco Martinez, Warrenton native and campus pastor for Element Church’s new Warrenton location, said the church is excited to sponsor the event.“This movie is good family entertainment,” said Martinez. “We are passionate about loving God and loving people, and ‘The Lion King’ has both a sweet spirit and story that is timeless.
