Charlotte Ann Wright

Charlotte Ann Wright (née Brewster) passed away on January 5, 2025. She had reached the age of 80 years young. She was born to Pearl Ann (Witte) and Walter Lee Brewster on November 27, 1944. 

Charlotte graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School and immediately began her career at Jonesburg State Bank where she retired in June 2013. It was here where she met her soon-to-be husband.

She married Neil Wright on June 8, 1968 at Jonesburg Methodist Church in Jonesburg. They eventually moved to Neil’s family farm and welcomed their daughter Jill in 1971 and son Jeff in 1976.

Charlotte worked at Jonesburg State Bank for over 50 years. She was loved and revered by her customers, as well as her coworkers. Always a kind and smiling face. There were countless people that learned from Charlotte and her time there.

There wasn’t someone that met Charlotte that wasn’t embraced by her loving personality. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking and baking for her family and anyone else who showed up and wanted to eat. She had fond memories of card parties and playing bunco with friends.

Charlotte was a talented pianist with a keen ear and big heart for music. She chose to share her love of music with everyone by playing piano on Sunday’s at St. John’s UCC and Jonesburg Christian Church. She also would visit the nursing homes to play music there.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Pearl Brewster; husband, Neil Wright; sisters-in-law, Dolores Wright, Imogene Theisen, Doris Quanty and Hazel Hawkins; and brothers-in-law, Arnold Wright, Bill Taylor, Paul Quanty, Ed Hawkins and Jim Theisen.

She is survived by her children, Jill Cobb and Jeff Wright; grandchildren, Cassie Lenzenhuber and Nick Lenzenhuber; great-grandson, Caden Bass; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Glenn and Toodie Wright of Jonesburg, Mary Lou Taylor of Kearney (Clay County, and Donna Wilde of Columbia, Ill., and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and funeral services were held on Jan. 10 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in High Hill. Burial was at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesburg.
