'Journey For Charity' asking spectators to bring canned goods

The Journey For Charity tractor cruise will cross southern Warren County this Sunday on its annual mission to collect food item donations for food pantries in Warren and Franklin counties.

Dozens of tractors will assemble Sept. 12 to parade from Concord Hill to Augusta, then to Washington, collecting non-perishable goods from spectators along the way for donation to seven regional food pantries. The benefiting pantries include the Southern Warren and St. Charles County Food Pantry located in Marthasville.

Journey For Charity is organized by the Knights of Columbus councils in Franklin County and southern Warren County.
The tractor cruise route through Warren County begins at 9:30 a.m. with a blessing of the fleet at St. Ignatius Church in Concord Hill. If you’d like to see the tractors and donate, here’s the route and times:

• 10:15 – Depart from St. Ignatius to Marthasville, traveling Concord Hill Road and Highway 94, then through the city center and stopping at St. Paul’s UCC.

• 10:55 – Depart for Dutzow, traveling the Bluff Road route past the Daniel Boone Monument, passing through Dutzow and traveling Highway 94 to stop at St. Vincent’s School.

• 12:15 – Travel from St. Vincent’s to Immaculate Conception Church on Highway 94.

• 12:50 – Depart toward Augusta, making a brief stop on Church Street, then traveling through town and leaving westward on Augusta Bottom Road. The last leg of the cruise will take the tractors over the Missouri River Bridge to unite with the southern route of the tractor procession and finish together at the Washington Knights of Columbus Hall.
