JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Jefferson City man was sentenced to seven years in prison for putting a 4-year-old boy into a freezing shower because the child spilled his cereal.Twenty-seven-year-old Devin Benke was sentenced Monday for child abuse after the February incident.Police say Benke put the boy in the shower and set the dial as cold as it could be. He also shoved the child several times, leaving bruises and a large cut on the boy's chin.The Jefferson City News Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/14ebCT7 ) Missouri American Water said the water line temperature was 41.7 degrees at the time.Benke left the boy in the water for a long time and eventually found him unresponsive.
