The second annual Wright City cemetery walk will take place Sunday, Oct. 15. It will be offered at two times.
The cemetery walk highlights former residents with a retelling of their personal stories.
This year, the “Voices from the Past” program will be offered both in the afternoon and evening.
The afternoon program will be held at 3 p.m. at Fellowship Hall at Immanuel United Church of Christ at N. 4th and Elm streets. The church is next to the cemetery entrance.
This session will be held indoors where people can sit through the program rather than walk the cemetery. Refreshments will be served following the program.
The evening program begins at 6:30 p.m. Guests will gather in the Fellowship Hall at Immanuel United Church of Christ and the walk will depart from there to the cemetery.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to view the display of photos and newspaper clippings, and enjoy a selection of apple and pumpkin desserts.
People attending the 6:30 p.m. cemetery walk should bring a flashlight.
The cemetery walk is sponsored by the Wright City Memorial Society. Tickets for the program are $5. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased the day of the program.
Proceeds from the cemetery walk will benefit the Memorial Society.
For more information, persons should contact the Wright City City Hall at 636-745-1025.
