Cedar Lake Cellars, a year-round winery and event center, recently opened its new concession area called The Smokehouse. The 1,200-square-foot building, which features state-of-the-art kitchen equipment plus seven windows to pick up both food and drink, cost $80,000 to create. A wide array of sandwiches and barbecue, as well as new flatbread pizzas, will be available for purchase. Customers can also enjoy mixed and specialty drinks, wine, beer, and Cedar Lake Cellars’ wine slushies. The Smokehouse has a full-service kitchen in order to provide food service for the concession area, as well as for the Cedar Room restaurant and The Barrel Room’s events. The winery hired 12 full and part-time employees for the addition. “Our new ‘concession stand on steroids’ will now be our main source of food production at our winery,” said Cedar Lake Cellars’ owner Carl Bolm. “This one-stop area was designed to allow our customers the convenience of buying their food and drink at one time.” Bolm added that the building was the former site of the winery’s 480-square-foot Lakeside Grille. The winery currently sells craft and domestic beer, as well as 16 Cedar Lake Cellars California or Paso Robles wines, 3 Swans handcrafted wines from the West Coast, 25 wines of the world, and signature wine slushies. A new mixed drink menu features a wide assortment of liquors and mixes to choose from. The winery is open year-round Fri. and Sat. from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sun. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for those 21 and older with live music scheduled throughout the weekend. Cedar Lake Cellars, which is situated on 370+ acres of picturesque land that includes a three-acre lake, is located at 11008 Schreckengast Rd. in Wright City, Mo.
