A car struck an unoccupied residence along the North Outer Road of Interstate 70 in the early hours of Monday, injuring the driver.
Angela M. Rue, 22, of Warrenton, was behind the wheel of a 1998 Honda Accord as it was traveling eastbound between Warrenton and Wright City.
The crash happened at 12:30 a.m., according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Rue swerved to avoid an animal in the road, driving off the road, the report stated. The vehicle became airborne and then struck a residence.
Rue suffered moderate injuries in the crash. She was wearing a seat belt at the time.
Rue was taken by Warren County Ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis.
Warrenton Fire Capt. Brett Owenby said the modular home hit by the vehicle is currently unoccupied. The vehicle struck the front corner of the house and caused noticeable damage, but probably not major structural issues, he said.
