Candidate filing for municipal, school board elections opens Dec. 17

Candidate filing for local elections begins this month, Dec. 17. Filing closes on Jan. 21, 2020, and the elections for local offices will be held April 7.

Most of the offices up for election in April are seats on the boards that control local governments, school districts and emergency agencies.

Below are the offices up for election, along with information on how to file.

City of Warrenton

Three seats on the Warrenton Board of Aldermen are up for election in April 2020, one in each of the city’s three wards.

Aldermen serve for a two-year term. Candidates may file with the city clerk at Warrenton City Hall, 200 W. Booneslick Road.

A map of the city’s wards is available on the city’s website, www.warrenton-mo.org.

Warren County R-III School District

Four school board members will be elected in April.

One seat on the board is for two years to finish the term of the late Allan Dreyer. The other seats are for three-year terms.

Candidates may file in the Warren County R-III Central Office, 385 W. Veterans Memorial Parkway, Warrenton.

City of Wright City

The office of mayor and two seats on the board of aldermen will be on the ballot in April. One alderman each will be elected for Ward 1 and Ward 2.

Mayor and aldermen serve for two-year terms. Candidates may file at Wright City Hall, 636 Westwoods Road.

Ward 1 consists of all residences north of Interstate 70, and Ward 2 is south of I-70.

Wright City R-II School District

Three members of the Wright City School Board will be elected in April.

Members of the school board serve for three-year terms. Candidates may file at the school district’s central office, 90 Bell Road, Wright City.

Wright City Fire Protection District

One position on the board of directors for Wright City Fire will be up for election.

Directors serve six-year terms on the board. Candidates can file for election at the Wright City Fire Protection District headquarters, 396 W. North Second St., Wright City.

City of Marthasville

Two aldermen for the city of Marthasville will be elected in April, representing the city’s eastern and western wards.

Aldermen are elected for two-year terms. Candidates can file at Marthasville City Hall, 402 E. Main St.

Marthasville Community Ambulance District

Two positions on the ambulance district’s board of directors will open for candidate filing. One person each will be elected from Subdistrict 1 and Subdistrict 4.

Ambulance board directors serve three-year terms. Candidates can file  for election at the Warren County Clerk’s Office, 101 Mockingbird Lane, Suite 302, Warrenton.

City of Truesdale

Two aldermen representing the residents of Truesdale will be elected in April. Each Truesdale alderman is elected through a citywide vote.

Aldermen serve for a two-year term. Candidates may file at Truesdale City Hall, 109 Pinckney St.

Village of Innsbrook

Two positions on the village’s board of trustees  will open for candidate filing.

Trustees are elected for a term of two years. Candidates may file at the Innsbrook Village Hall, 1835 Highway F.

City of Foristell

Two board of aldermen seats will be up for election, one each representing Ward 1 and Ward 2.

Ward 1 consists of all residences north of the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. Ward 2 is south of the Norfolk and Southern Railroad.

Aldermen serve for two-year terms. Candidates may file at Foristell City Hall, 121 Mulberry St.

Village of Pendleton

Village residents will elect two people to serve on the board of trustees. The trustees will be elected for two-year terms.

Candidates can file for election at the office of the village clerk, 28356 Pendleton School Road.

Warren County Ambulance District

Two seats on the Warren County Ambulance District Board of Directors, representing Subdistricts 1 and 4, will be open for election.

Directors serve for a period of three years. Candidates can file  for election at the Warren County Clerk’s Office, 101 Mockingbird Lane, Suite 302, Warrenton.

Warren County Emergency Services Board (911 Board)

Four positions on the Emergency Services Board will be open for election, two each from Warren County’s Northern and Southern Districts.

Each seat is for a four-year term. Candidates may file for election at the Warren County Emergency 911 Center, 209 State Highway U.
