Lamp posts in downtown Wright City will become the centerpieces of a holiday decorating contest this December.
The Wright City Chamber of Commerce is organizing the new competition, with a chance for the most popular decoration to earn a $100 Visa gift card.
Any business or organization is invited to decorate one lamp post on West North Second Street in Wright City.
Decorations should be Christmas-themed and in good taste. Decorations cannot deface or harm the lamp post itself, but can be secured with things like zip ties.
Decorations must be placed between Nov. 29 and Dec. 3, and may remain until Jan. 4.
Judging of the lamp posts will be done through social media and Wright City Hall. The winner will be announced Dec. 20.
Those interested in participating in the holiday decorating contest should reserve a lamp post by calling Chamber President Kim Arbuthnot at 636-206-6191.
