Prosecutors have charged a Warrenton woman with first-degree burglary after a homeowner allegedly caught her and another person stealing from his garage.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Maranda L. Timmermeier, 29, on Aug. 28. Another suspect in the burglary has not been identified by police.
The charge stems from an Aug. 1 incident at the 2100 block of Anthony Steven Court, according to a Warrenton Police Department report.
The homeowners called 911 shortly after 7 a.m. to report the burglary, police said. According to the victims, Timmermeier and a male suspect entered the garage while the homeowners were inside their house, and began to take items. Police describe both suspects as being “armed unlawfully.”
Police said one of the homeowners confronted the burglars, who attempted to flee. The homeowner caught Timmermeier and disarmed her of a knife that had been stolen from the garage. When police arrived, they found the homeowner pinning Timmermeier to the ground.
Another knife was found in Timmermeier’s pocket, police said.
The second suspect fled the scene.
Court records show Timmermeier has a history of previous drug- and theft-related criminal charges.
