A Franklin County man who allegedly broke in the door of a Marthasville home to steal handguns and a safe containing $2,000 has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.Paul Wallace, 34, St. Clair, pleaded guilty July 23 in Warren County Circuit Court. Presiding Judge Wes Dalton sentenced him to five years for charges of stealing $750 or more and stealing firearms, and an additional seven years for second-degree burglary, according to online court records.Wallace also will be required to pay restitution for the crime, according to court records.Three other people were charged for their involvement in the crime, which happened in June 2017 at a home on the 500 block of Hiawatha Street in Marthasville.Jessica Perkins, 30, of Franklin County, and Minda Williams, 23, of Cuba, Mo., pleaded guilty in January for their roles in the crime and were both given five-year probations.A fourth suspect, Tyler M. Wilson, 31, Franklin County, has not yet been taken into custody in Warren County. He is alleged to have been the driver of the vehicle used in the burglary. The four suspects reportedly planned the burglary in advance while in a vehicle together. The suspects told authorities that Perkins approached a woman who was home alone at the time and asked if she could get a ride to Dollar General.Once Perkins and the victim left, the others arrived in a Chevy sedan to burglarize the home. Authorities were told that Wallace was the one who forced open the front door of the home in order to take the safe and two handguns. The suspects reportedly then traveled to Dollar General to pick up Perkins before leaving Marthasville.Wallace has a history of previous felony arrests in Franklin County, and was out of jail on bond for weapon charges at the time of the burglary, according to court records.Paul Wallace
