Two bridges in southern Warren County have been completely rebuilt and are ready to open, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).The bridges on Highway 94 over Lost Creek and Smith Creek were closed in May because they were old and deteriorating, and needed to be replaced, MoDOT stated. Their reopening was announced on Aug. 31, relieving a major inconvenience for local residents who had to take long detours around the closings.“We are pleased to have these bridges completed,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Erik Maninga. “For added safety and to meet modern standards, the new bridges were constructed 4 feet wider than the old ones.”MoDOT also announced the opening of a newly constructed second Interstate 70 interchange in Warrenton on Aug. 30.The next major MoDOT road projects in Warren County will involve replacing expansion joints on the two I-70 overpasses in Wright City. A date for the beginning of that work has not been announced.

Bridges are once again open on Highway 94 at Lost Creek and Smith Creek. The bridges were completely replaced due to age and deterioration. This photo was taken at the Lost Creek bridge during construction in August.
